Odd title for a post, I know.
We have been having some wonderful spring weather here in Kansas, our reward for making it through a miserable winter! The kids and I were out in the front yard the other day enjoy the sunshine, and working in the garden. Brendan and Jack love playing together with their cars and seeing who can make it down the driveway the fastest! Then I noticed it, our sweet little Brendan had officially turned into a little boy..
There he was playing in the dirt and poking is his finger through the hole in his pants! So proudof himself, and so proud was I. Just another step in him being a little boy..

Spring time...a breath of fresh air!
Well on the first day of Spring here in Kansas it snowed, and snowed and snowed....6 inches. Not the best way to start Spring, or so I thought. Instead of trying to rush of winter and get spring here I stopped for a moment to look around at what we have, nice how a snow day will make you do that! I know I keep saying, "I wish one of the boys would start walking, if would make things easier for me." Now, it really would, because carrying 2 twenty pound boys around isn't the easiest thing in the world, but I realized I get to hold them! The time is coming quickly when they won't want to be held, or hugged or snuggled with, and it makes me sad.
Rory is going to 5 in May, and I can't believe that time has come and gone! She will be a Kindergartener in the fall, and she is always quick to tell me that "I'm not a baby, I'm a big girl" when I call her my baby.
Brendan is just about ready to walk, he is such a little boy now! He is into books and trucks and getting into the mud and playing with balls! It was just yesterday that he was born, and we wondered, although not once outloud, would we ever be able to bring this baby home, would he make it?? Well, he has made it through so much and then some. He is a tough little boy, and he has made our family so much better and stronger, and much more appreciative of everything that we have! He is becoming independent in his play, but he still loves to sit with Mommy and Daddy and just have some quiet time too!
Jack, oh my Jack. Jack was the calmest baby, just going with the flow, which at the time was exactly what we needed, but now, watch out world! Jack is everywhere and into everything and is oh so proud of it too! He has a smile and a look that makes me scared! He is going to get away with so much and try everything at least once! He is such a joyful child, and he is so happy to have the best playmates in the world!
Bryan and I are so lucky to have 3 amazing kids, who have the truest smiles, the truest most hardy laughs. They give us a reason every single day to be so appreciative that we get to be their parents!

Bedtime Princess and her loyal subjects
So last night, the boys were ready to go to bed, and part of the bedtime routine with them is to give goodnight hugs and kisses to Rory. Well, Rory was in her room watching a Strawberry Shortcake movie with the door closed so that they boys wouldn't bother her. Since it was bedtime, the boys crawled (I wish they would just walk!) to her door and started banging on it. I opened the door, and there is Rory sitting in her big pink Princess chair, and the boys are trying to get through the half opened door at the same time. As calmly as can be, Rory says "One at a time boys, one at a time for goodnight hugs and kisses". A princess who is apparently used to doing crowd control...

The Story of the Dinosaurs....by Rory
Lately Rory has been fascinated with Dinosaurs and everything about them. Today she told Bryan and I exactly what happened to them.
Rory: "I know why there aren't anymore Dinosaurs."
Me: "Really, why?"
Rory: "They were walking around, fell down, came 'stinked' (extinct to everyone else) and then they were bones."
So there you go scientists...beat that!

Enough already!!!
I know it's February, and I know that I grew up in New England, so I know about winter weather, but seriously!!!! Who knew that living in Kansas we would be in the middle of a winter wonderland for 2 months!!! I have done enough shoveling for 2 winters! Hopefully, what this means is next winter while Bryan is gone we won't have snow like this and I won't have to shovel all by myself! A girl can dream....

Ah ha..
Having your own children makes you appreciate everything that your parents have done for you. It also makes you call them at least once a week for things that you did as a child... I love you Mom and Dad!!!

It's been that long, really???
OK, so it's been a really long time! Where does the time go?? I have no idea, when did Rory get to be a real little girl (or a big girl, if you ask her!) of 4 1/2....Kindergarten is just around the corner!! Brendan is such a little boy now, he is everywhere and almost ready to take those first steps!! I have no idea where the first year of Jack's life went..it really feels like we just got him home. He is such a happy little guy, even when he is getting taught the ropes by his big brother in the not so most loving way!! Bryan and I are so lucky to have such 3 wonderfully happy kids who make us smile everyday..we are blessed!
