Homeward Bound!

February 3 was freedom day!! We were finally able to bring Jack home! We are now a family of 5 under one roof. There is never a dull, or quiet moment!

MAJ Kilbride

Bryan was promoted to Major on January 30 by LTC Molinari. The only thing that was missing was Jack, who was still in the NICU for a few more days.

Here's John Edward!!!

It started out so promising that baby #3 would be a normal delivery since Bryan was home and there was no looming deployment. Oh how wrong we were!!
We headed to the hospital on MLK Day for a scheduled induction. Everything started off fine, a little slow, but things were moving in the right direction. Unfortunately at 11:30pm the doctor came in and told Bryan and I that the baby's heart rate was decelerating after each contraction instead of with the contractions. Next thing we knew we were being wheeled into the OR and 10 minutes later at 12:07am on January 20 Jack was out and was screaming his head off! I thought that we were in the clear, Jack was out and I could hear him crying, and Bryan was over with him admiring his handy work. Once again, we were wrong!
Jack had a lot of fluid in his lungs which required him to get oxygen and then a trip to the NICU. Those were not the words we wanted to hear. Jack was in the NICU for 2 weeks, thankfully I was able to stay on in the hospital for the first 5 days recovering, so I was only an elevator ride away from him.

Welcome 2009

Just in case you were wondering, Yes - giving Rory a noise maker was a HUGE mistake!! The headache it caused was worse than any hangover you could imagine!

Christmas Day!

This was the first year that Rory understood about Santa and Rudolph coming to our house and leaving presents. Bryan and I were happy that it was finally the day that Rory had been waiting for, especially since we had been asked every day since July "Does Santa come to my house tonight??" Brendan was just happy to play with the wrapping paper. We should have known better, we could have saved a bundle on Christmas presents!

Thanksgiving Trip

The happy flyers!! Thankfully Brendan is a great traveller just like Rory! He slept through the majority of the plane ride and Rory kep herself occupied with movies and coloring. Such a blessing these 2 are!

Brendan getting ready to celebrate his first real Thanksgiving!

Rory was more interested playing with her friend Cinco than actually eating Thanksgiving dinner. Oh well, there was more food left for us!
